Coach Costello is a 1999 graduate of Arlington High School. While at AHS, Kim played four years of varsity basketball, earning All-League, All-Section, and All-State honors each year. Costello became the first girl in school history to score 1,000 points and was captain of the school's first girl's basketball league championship team. In her senior year, Kim led the Admirals to the Section 1 Finals, playing in the Westchester County Center. Costello was also a member of the Arlington High School National Honor Society. Kim played AAU basketball for the Hudson Valley Knights for six years and was a member of the Empire State Games girl's basketball scholastic (1998) and open (2000) teams, winning a Gold medal in '98. Costello went on to play four years of Division 1 basketball at Lafayette College in Easton, Pennsylvania. As point guard, Kim led her team in assists, steals, and 3 pointers made. Kim was also a member of the Patriot League Sports Academic Honor Roll. A 2003 graduate, Costello earned her bachelor's degree in biology, with a minor in psychology. Costello is in her first year as head coach of the Arlington Girl's Varsity Basketball Team, where she previously served for 5 years as the assistant. Costello has also spent 7 years coaching AAU for the Hudson Valley Knights. A member of the American Fitness Professionals and Associates, Costello is a certified personal trainer/sports conditioning specialist and the Basketball Director at Gold's Gym. Costello helps out at local basketball camps and continues to play whenever possible. Through the Future Stars basketball club in Westchester, Kim has experienced playing international basketball in Bermuda and Ireland, and hopes to play in Italy within the next few years. In her free time, Costello enjoys spending time with her family and friends, working out, hiking/mountain climbing, and traveling. Kim currently resides in Pleasant Valley.
