JAMES LUFT

HEAD JUNIOR VARSITY

FOOTBALL COACH

Mr. Luft graduated from Walter Panas High School in 2001.  While at Panas he was a three sport captain and member of the National Honor Society.  He played baseball basketball and football.  Upon graduation he attended Marist College and graduated with a Bachelors of Art in Mathematics in 2005.

While at Marist Mr. Luft was the starting quarterback of the football team for three years and captain his senior year.  He was a finalist for the Wilma Rudolph Student Athlete Achievement Award.  This is a nationwide award that is given to a student athlete who has strived through adversity and excelled in the classroom as well as on the playing field.

Upon graduation from Marist, Mr. Luft worked in the Carmel Central School District at George Fisher Middle School before coming to Arlington.  Currently he is teaching math at both Arlington Middle School and Arlington High School.  Next year he will only be in the high school. 

Mr. Luft has coached the modified football and basketball teams at AMS and is currently serving as the Varsity Assistant Baseball Coach at Putnam Valley High School.
